These past few weeks have been a struggle for me. My list of "to do" projects seems to grow exponentially on a dialy basis. And the urge to start new projects grows as well. I'm trying to be good and finish up a project before I add another one. I'm almost done with my Kelp Forest scarf I started this month. I want to get it finished on or before Friday. Which I just realized tomorrow is Friday - I better knit up a storm this evening after work.
Probably the best way to go about knitting up a project would be to focus on that project and only do one at a time. I, however, cannot do that. I always have multiple projects going on at the same time. It allows me to jump around and gives me a variety of knitting to work on. Right now I have one lace scarf project [La Dentelle Belle], one plain knit/purl project [Kelp Forest], one new technique project [Entrelac scarf], and one scarf project that requires a lot of attention and counting [Midwest Moonlight Scarf].
My pending list however, is about 100 times longer that this short list, and of course I want to knit everything now! But since I can't do that (not enough knitting needles to go around), I'm trying to become (or make myself) more organized. Ravelry is such an awesome tool for that purpose! I absolutely love Ravelry! I'm sure I spend way too much time on it. But I don't mind! Currently I am in the process of arranging my project queue. My ultimate goal is to order the projects in the order I intend to work on them, assign a yarn and color to them from the yarn I have stashed, and then as I bind off a project I'll cast on another one! Hooray! I have my goal, now all I have to do is work towards reaching it. That is something I'll take on this weekend after I finish Kelp Forest.
Until next time
