A Knitter's Ideal Weekend

I believe the ideal weekend for an avid knitter should always start out with a Saturday morning trip to the yarn shop. This is how my weekend started off. Actually it started with a two hour drive on Friday evening to my parents house. (Hubby and I try to make monthly visits to our family, since we moved to another city for work.) Saturday morning my mom and I ventured out for some yarn shopping. I have several projects lined up that I needed supplies for. Now some people might say wait and buy the yarn when you are ready to actually start each project. I say...what's the fun in that?! Besides, my hubby told me to "buy lots of yarn" on my way out. (Yes, I do have a witness that heard this and would back me up if needed, haha.) I got plenty of yarn to keep my hands occupied for the next couple of months.....maybe....hopefully. I also picked up some smaller needles for my lacy scarf patterns I intend on tackling next.

After yarn shopping we headed back to my moms house where I sorted through my yarn and worked on matching my yarns to patterns. It took much self-restraint to not start another project while doing this. I plan on waiting until I get the Irish Hiking Scarf finished before I start my next project. I did however line up my next scarf project and matched a yarn to it. So that's all ready to go once I finish.

The rest of my weekend revolved around knitting on the Irish Hiking Scarf and looking through mom's knitting books and magazines, selecting which patterns I needed to have a copy of, and making those copies. I now have more projects to think about and line up, I'm so excited. I want to hurry up and finish my hiking scarf so I can officially move on to the next project. Lucky me I am almost done with the hiking scarf. I anticipate finishing it by the weekend. I could finish before the weekend if I had more time to spend on knitting. But, well see.

~~Until next time, Happy Knitting~~
